Barton Announces $51,000 for Agriculture Innovation in 124th District

August 12, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jamie Barton (R-Berks/Schuylkill) announced today the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has awarded more than $51,000 to two farms in the 124th Legislative District. The funding comes from the Agricultural Innovation Grant Program, which helps farmers and other agriculture businesses implement new technology or add upgrades to make them safer and more efficient.

Rodale Institute in Berks County was awarded more than $31,000 to scale its precision weed management for organic farmers with photo-guided cultivation systems.

Honey Brook Farm in Schuylkill County was awarded nearly $20,000 for a farrowing facility upgrade to protect the health and safety of swine.

“Farms like these feed our communities, our Commonwealth and our country,” Barton said. “Just like any other business, farms have to adapt and implement new techniques to stay as efficient as possible. This funding is helping Rodale and Honey Brook do just that.”
