Barton to Host Third Annual Farmer Appreciation Breakfast, Blessing of the Balers

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jamie Barton (R-Berks/Schuylkill) is announcing details for an event to thank the farmers of the 124th Legislative District for their hard work to help put food on our tables, and pray for a safe, productive and prosperous planting season.

Barton’s third annual Farmer Appreciation Breakfast and Blessing of the Balers will be held Tuesday, April 21, at Kutztown Grange Hall. The blessing will take place at 8:30 a.m., with breakfast to follow.

“We may call it the Blessing of the Balers, but our prayers reach far beyond the equipment,” Barton said. “Our farmers put in long hours from sunrise to sunset to ensure we have the food our families rely on. But even with all their hard work, they still depend on Mother Nature to provide the right amount of rain for a healthy season. I’m welcoming all our agricultural workers to join me as we pray for a safe and prosperous growing season. Afterwards, I’d be honored to serve our farmers a warm meal as a small token of appreciation for everything they do.”
