Barton Named Vice Chair of House Appropriations Committee

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jamie Barton (R-Berks/Schuylkill) announced today he has been appointed vice chair of the House Appropriations Committee. 

“I’m honored to have been chosen for such an important role,” Barton said. “I do my best to represent Berks and Schuylkill counties through the lens of fiscal responsibility, and I will continue to do so in the budget process, knowing it impacts each and every taxpayer in Pennsylvania.”

Barton’s new position will include playing a more active role in assisting Republican Chair Jim Struzzi. The committee’s work will begin in earnest Monday, Feb. 23, the first day of three weeks’ worth of budget hearings.
